TXT Export

In this chapter, the generic term Report is used to refer both to Reports and Design rules. These two report types are based on the same features and are managed in the same way.

Reports manager: TXT export

Design rules manager: TXT export

Generates data in the form of TXT files.

Add created files to project: Creates TXT files in the storage directory for the project and adds them to the project as data files (or updates them if they already exist). If this option is not activated, the TXT files are generated in your defined directory.

Target folder: Enter the target folder for the files. Click on the [...] button. If the Add created files to project option is activated, you must select a folder or a book in the project. If not, you will be asked to select a directory on your disk.

Export all reports: Select this to export all project reports. You can also select the reports you want to export in the list.

Include column header the first row: Generates the names of the database fields on the first line of the file.

Text identifier, Text separator and File type are text formatting parameters. They should be selected according to the requirements of the software into which the files will be imported.

Check the Open file box to open the generated files after creation.

Exported TXT files, if they are in the project documents, are automatically updated when you run some commands, such as printing, exporting to PDF files, or new revision creation. They can also be updated using the Update exported report in their contextual menu.
