Component classification

To make finding manufacturer parts or symbols easier, components are classified. Components are classified by type of device.

Classes cannot be added, modified or deleted.

 

Menu: Library > Component classification

 

When the command is launched, the component classification management dialog box opens.

 

Root: Lets you define the letter used for marking the component. This involves indicating a default value. You will be able to modify it when marking the component.

 

Customize: Allows you to customize the user data and translatable data.

Advanced properties: Allows to associated circuit types to the class and customize the manufacturer data.

Associate a 3D part: Allows you to select a default file used for 3D cabinet layouts in SOLIDWORKS.

Associate a 2D footprint: Allows you to select a default 2D footprint used for 2D cabinet layouts.

Associate a connection label: Allows you to select the element to be used for insertion from the symbol selector.
